Before becoming a mother, I was juggling full time teaching at a dual sector university and studying law remotely. I'll admit, I was a bit of a madwoman! At the time I had my sights set on becoming a lawyer with a passion for protecting digital art. In fact, I wanted to be a lawyer all through primary school but as I got older the dream faded with the urge to always do more visually creative things and lack of supportive direction through Year 11 and 12. The courtroom theatrics and grand speeches of justice had always called to me but my love for interior design was stronger so that’s what I did! When I fell pregnant, I realised I didn't want to keep studying law while raising a tiny human. It was a daunting task to keep up with "all the things" full time, and I was proud of the eight elective credits I had already earned. That was an entire year off my degree and as you might suspect – my ego liked that for sure but I knew deep down I didn’t want that dream anymore. So, for the first time, I walked away from something big that I started and felt good about it. I was going to be a Mum.
